Bruce Springsteen kicks the proceedings off with "My City Of Ruins," a previously unreleased slice of woe and hope with a gospel-flavored coda. This is one of the most rare Sting cds, it's got the studio recording of Strange Fruit.
Sting recorded this version of Billie Holliday classic especially for this album, accompanying on double bass and vibraphone.
This track was only release on two cds this and the one below, it's one of Stings absolutly best cover versions ever recorded.
It was made in 1986 in West Germany by the label: Mercury. Catalog number: 830 588-2
Among the other stars is: Bryan Adams, Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Simple Minds and others.
The cd was mad for Amnesty International 25 Years Against Injustice.
All together 11 track and total playing of: 51:34.
